For sale is a Yamaha 651 Professional Wood Clarinet in a hard Yamaha case. This instrument is a beautiful, high quality Professional grade instrument that is closely related to the YCL-650. The 651 model was produced and sold in the Japanese market originally at the 650 equivalent there. It is hard to find outside of Japan. This is a fabulous instrument that is well worth the search to find though. This rare professional clarinet carries with it high quality Yamaha production, an excellent tone, and ease of play that even Buffet players would be jealous of. This instrument is difficult to find for sale because they are high quality instruments, had a low production number, and are only rarely sold by their owners. Yamaha is known for making excellent and consistent instruments, and this instrument is no different. It is a wonderful instrument that is of true professional quality, and is at a better price point to the more common R13.
In terms of condition, this instrument has been overhauled with new pads. Cosmetically, This particular instrument is in very nice condition.However, there is scratching on the keywork and there are several areas where the plating has worn through the the underlying metal. There are also some scratches on the wood. The logos are visible in the right light. The silver plating is really beautiful on this instrument overall, but does show some wear. The instrument plays amazingly well, as is expected from a YCL-651. It has a great dark tone, even intonation, and nice response. A mouthpiece and other accessories are included with this instrument.
