    Description

    You are looking at a very nice example of a Yamaha YCL-34
    Bb clarinet
    . This all wood instrument is considered an intermediate model for students stepping up from a beginner clarinet . The YCL-34 is the predecessor of the YCL-450 model, so they are comparable in performance. As you can see from the photos, this one is in great shape. The key plating is generally excellent plus the corks and springs work very well. The body of the instrument has minimal scratching and no cracks.
    This Yamaha
    has been thoroughly reconditioned: It was completely disassembled and cleaned, the keys were hand polished and all new Valentino pads were installed. In addition, the keys were aligned and lubricated when the clarinet was re-assembled. That means that not only will this clarinet be a fine player now, but it will continue to perform well for years with minimal servicing. The current Yamaha student models all come with this same Valentino style of pads (which are more durable), so in that respect this clarinet is just as good as a new one.
    I started playing clarinet 56 years ago and these days I restore clarinets exclusively. Over the years I've refurbished more than 1,200 of these Bb models, many of which have been sold here on eBay. So you can read the feedback from other people who bought my clarinets and be confident that you're buying a quality instrument that plays great. I feel I've done my best to ensure this one fits that description. After testing this Yamaha, I've found that it does everything well- it plays easily from top to bottom and has that sweet Yamaha sound. The tone is enhanced by the excellent Vandoren mouthpiece.
    This YCL-34 comes with a Vandoren M15 mouthpiece that will really make this baby sing! Usually these Vandoren mouthpieces run about 0. Also comes with new cork grease and a new reed. The case has typical wear and works well. Serial number is 011330AII.
