This Advantage is the latest version of Yamaha's popular student clarinet with an adjustable thumb rest. Although it is easy to have the impression that this instrument is somehow different from Yamaha's YCL-255 model, the specs are the same on both models and all parts are interchangeable. It's clear that this one has been taken care of- the plating on the keys, the corks and springs are in excellent condition. If you look closely it has a couple small marks, but as you can see in the photos, this one is in great shape cosmetically. This Yamaha was just serviced: completely disassembled and polished, lubricated and adjusted so that it's ready to play. I've found that often it's the small adjustments that make a big difference in how enjoyable an instrument is to play
