Vintage Grenadilla Leblanc Paris 'Pete Fountain' Model Clarinet - Serial # 42972
This is a very nice Leblanc “Pete Fountain” Bb clarinet, serial number 42972. The grenadilla wood body shows no previous cracks or crack repairs. The clarinet is in very nice condition for its age. The original keywork has some minor finish wear, but the keywork remains tight and there are no previous repairs there either. The instrument comes complete with original bell, barrel, and even the original mouthpiece.
The clarinet was just freshly serviced and set-up by Audrey Denny. The key work and pads have all been finely regulated and adjusted. This set-up also included changing any necessary key materials. This clarinet plays with a smooth and open response. The Fountain clarinets were made for the players who are looking for something to play with a more open mouthpiece in louder musical situations.
This is a great clarinet for jazz players and woodwind doublers. Ships with wood hard case.
