Description
This vintage hammered painted copper laminate dates from the 1940’s or 50’s. It was originally used as the cover for a paper notepad, but it could be reutilized in many ways - in a small framed wall hanging, as a bookmark, pasted on the cover of a photo-album, or even used again for its original purpose of a notepad cover. It’s motif is pure Argentine, with a gaucho guitar, a gourd mate and bombilla (drinking straw), and a ribbon in the Argentine albiceleste (white and sky blue) colors. And of course, the name Argentina stamped diagonally across the top. The border all around is hammered in a rope-like design.
It measures 5 3/8” high x 3 3/16” wide (13.5 cm. X 8 cm.). The copper laminate is completely intact with no holes or punctures. There is a little patina on the right side, but this could be removed with a copper polish.
