is this convenient for regular sized jars?
We believe it is - especially small jelly jars, the rounded end scoops out well like a spoon. When stirring small natural peanut butter jars, just be sure to cut down slowly to the bottom at first so you don't splash oil. The PB-JIFE is long with a lot of leverage!
Yes, it works in all size jars. But it’s large and we use it really at the end of the jar to get the nooks and crannies you can’t reach with a normal spoon even.
It works for me in every I have tried.as long as the opening is wide enough to enter. It is better than I expected. Really great in deep jars.

Will it work for the big Costco Jars?
Absolutely! The PB-JIFE reaches both 80 oz and 36 oz Adams jars and 48 oz Skippy - all of which are sold at Costco/Sam's Club.
Can't say as I don't shop Costco. Total length is 11.5 inches. Blade alone is 7.0 inches. If jar is curved on bottom like most jars I would say it would do the job.
I don’t know about the big Costco jars, but I use it on the large jars of Jif and it works perfectly.

Would you say this takes as much muscle to use as a butter knife or fork on a 16 oz. jar?
It's much easier because you have more leverage with the longer knife. The table knife length is 9 inches and the PBJife is 11 inches long. The handle is easier is to grip and hold on to as well.
I'm not sure that I would say the amount of strength to use the knife in peanut butter changes. It makes it much easier to reach the bottom of the large jars of peanut butter though. I'm glad o bought the knife, it has come in handy

I don’t think so. Appears to be stainless steel. This is a very sturdy knife. Reaches to the bottom of the jar easily keeping your fingers clean! I love mine.

This is an unusual tool. It is stiff enough to plow through cold peanut butter and clean the sides well and around the rim. Works great! We have a silicon spatula that cleans up nicely but not quite strong enough for digging into cold peanut butter. This tool stand out with how firm it is. It will be perfect for a big new jar of peanut butter to mix in the oil as well as using it any other time peanut butter is wanted. But don't stop with just using it for peanut butter. It seems it can be used for other things as well.
Was rushing to make a salad for my husband who had to eat on the go. I mixed up lettuce & other things then reached in the drawer for a big fork or something to mix it all up. There sat my red-handled new tool & I put it to work with the salad. It worked like a champ! Like it was made for that job.

Just had an idea to search "peanut butter knife" on Amazon and found this one and a few others. This one looked the best. Works like a charm! Blade is long enough that the handle stays outside the jar opening. The little rounded end gets around the very bottom of the jar too so none is wasted. I also use it to get jelly out of the jar too, and to spread margarine on toast. Oh, and after it's clean, I use to stir my coffee too.

I usually don’t like “one use” tools.. But this isn’t one of them! Not just for PB but J and M as well. WELL DESIGNED. The length is perfect. The shape is perfect. The blade thickness is perfect. It can handle hard stirring without much bending. The handle fits my hands well. I can grip it tight and have enough leverage to fight, I mean mix peanut butter. You’d be tempted to say maybe if they thicken the blade a bit more to remove any bending but that’ll just add more weight to it without significant improvement. I like it. Tempted to buy one as spare but I doubt I’ll break this one.
