2001 Lexus RX300 300.Up for bid is my 2001 Lexus RX300 AWD with 180,845 miles. I am the second owner and I bought the RX from a close family member. The RX drives great, and has plenty of power, and AC works great in our 100+ temperatures. This RX is in great shape considering its age.
The RX is loaded with most of the options available and most all work. I have the original window sticker but it is very faded. Here are a few of the options: heated and adjustable front seats, Lexus Premium 7 speaker sound system with a cassette and 6-disc in-dash CD auto changer, roof rack, with cross bars, snow chains, spare tire, original manual, first-aid kit, tire jack, and much more. The tires are in good condition. Look at the window sticker to see all the options.
The engine was removed and sent to Sunwest Automotive Engine in Medical Lake, WA for a complete re-manufacturing at 134,954 miles. The invoice lists all the new parts. It is essentially a new engine.
At 170,387 miles the automatic transmission and transfer case were replaced by Walser Lexus of Wichita. They failed because of poor maintenance performed by a local shop with BBB rating of A+ and AAA rating of A+. They said they check all fluids, but they only check those with a dip stick. Everything functions properly now.
These are the known problems I am aware off. The electric antenna is broken, doesn't go up and down but the motor runs. The drive light on the dash doesn't light. There are a few dings on the body and a cracked taillight. It has an electric moon roof, but we tried it once and had trouble getting it back down, so assume it has problems. It is probably time to replace the shocks to get the best ride, but it rides ok. It has some small cosmetic flaws. The front seats have new seat covers, the rest of the upholstery, dash, side panels, etc are in good condition.
An inside panel on the hatch is coming loose.
We purchased a new vehicle 4 months ago that has all the latest safety features. Besides the Lexus we have a truck. We decided to keep the truck and sell the Lexus. In the meantime we were not driving the Lexus and the battery went dead. We replaced the battery with a new one from Auto Zone. Replacing the battery erases all the emission data from onboard computer. As a result, it will not pass the El Paso Texas emission test until enough miles has been driven. This can be anywhere between 50 and 500 miles. We drove it 55 and then 100 miles but it still was not enough. As a result of all this, the license plates could not be renewed since the vehicle is registered in El Paso.
I believe this vehicle has many good miles, years left and should be capable of driving cross country. Please check my feedback.
This vehicle is being sold as is, no warranty, no returns because of age and part swappers. Successful bidder is responsible for transporting, or picking up vehicle. If needed, buyer is responsible for acquiring temporary vehicle license plate.
